How to buy or bid for a NFT on opensea (guide for new users)
- Setting up MetaMask
The first step is to install the MetaMask chrome/firefox extension (https://metamask.io/). You can also use the MetaMask app on iPhone and android.
This is a crypto wallet which can hold ethereum (ETH) and other ethereum-based cryptocurrencies. It can also hold NFTs. Once you went through the setup process you’ll need to get some ETH into your MetaMask wallet.
2. Buying Crypto
The easiest way is to use the “Buy” feature within Metamask where you can use a credit card or apple pay to get some ETH.
3. Converting ETH to WETH
In order to place a bid on opensea you need to convert some of your ETH to WETH (wrapped ETH). This you can do with the “Swap” feature in MetaMask.
4. Make a bid on opensea
On opensea you can click on Make offer to make a bid.
That’s it, you just made your first bid on opensea.
